What LocalAI Check is

LocalAI Check is a web-based tool that checks whether a Mac configuration meets the publicly announced system requirements for running local AI software. The checker is free to use. We also offer an optional paid Pro subscription with additional features.

Information only, no guarantee

The checker and all content on this site are provided for information only. Results are based on requirements publicly announced by the relevant software publishers at the time of publication. Those requirements can change, and a result here is guidance, not a guarantee that any particular software will run on your machine. Always confirm the current requirements on the official product pages before buying hardware.

No affiliation

LocalAI Check is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Perplexity or Apple. "Perplexity", "Perplexity Computer", "Apple" and "Mac" are mentioned for identification only (nominative use).

Pro subscription and billing

The Pro subscription is billed in advance on a monthly basis. Payments are processed through our payment provider, Waffo Pancake, which acts as merchant of record for the transaction. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged again. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods, except as stated in the refund policy below.

Refund policy

If the paid service does not work as described, contact us within 7 days of your initial payment and we will refund that payment in full. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through our payment provider.

Acceptable use

Do not abuse the service: no automated attacks or excessive scraping, no attempts to disrupt the site, and no misrepresenting our results or content as your own or as an official statement by any third party.

Liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Eligibility facts stated on this site (chip type and memory size) can be verified against the manufacturers' published specifications. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on the information provided here, including hardware purchases.

Term and termination

These terms apply for as long as you use this site. If you breach these terms - for example by abusing the service, launching automated attacks, scraping excessively, disrupting the site, or misrepresenting our content as your own - we may warn you, restrict features, or suspend or terminate your access. Depending on the severity of the breach, we may do so with or without prior notice.

If we terminate your access because of a breach, fees you have already paid are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

You may stop using the site at any time. Pro subscribers terminate their subscription by cancelling it; after cancellation, paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, as described in the cancellation section above.

The sections on liability and refunds survive termination of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "last updated" date below will change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
